Abhinav Bindra and Gaganyaan astronaut-designate address students at SSVM conclave in Coimbatore

Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra and Gaganyaan astronaut-designate Air Commodore Prashanth Balakrishnan Nair addressed students on the second day of the SSVM Transforming India Conclave in Coimbatore, alongside cricketer Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Now in its fifth edition, the conclave was inaugurated by Dr Manimekalai Mohan, Founder and Managing Trustee of SSVM Institutions, with a welcome address by Director Srisha Mohandoss.

Bindra told students that talent alone was not enough, and that a great shot is never fired but always built, drawing on two decades in the sport.

The day also included the Inspirational Guru Awards, presented to school leaders and teachers from institutions across India and the United States, with Nair presenting the first batch and Bindra the second.

The conclave brings students at SSVM Institutions into direct conversation with figures from sport, science and the arts, and ran across two days in Coimbatore.
