Aptech inks collaboration with The Film & Television Institute of India (FTII)

Aptech and the Film and Television Institute of India have announced a collaboration to offer filmmaking and creative-skills training through three learning models.

Under the first, selected FTII workshops and micro-credentials will be accessible to eligible students at Aptech centres. A second model will integrate a two-month FTII module with Aptech brands offering visual-effects and 3D programmes, with joint certification subject to the prescribed requirements.

The third is a co-developed programme that includes two months of immersive learning at FTII's Pune campus. Initially planned through Aptech's own centres in Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru, it is intended to give students an opportunity to produce a short film under FTII mentorship.

“Through these three models, we aim to give learners greater access to specialised knowledge, mentorship and real-world creative experiences,” Sandip Weling, Aptech's whole-time director and chief business officer for global retail, said in the supplied October 23 statement.

The collaboration targets aspiring filmmakers, content creators, animators and visual-effects professionals. It may provide exposure to internships and industry associations, but the announcement does not guarantee an internship or job for every participant.

Course fees, intake, admission dates and the detailed eligibility requirements were not disclosed in the release.
