Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Fortune 500 and a Fully Integrated Maharatna Energy Company and Trinity Cleantech Private Limited(TCPL) which is a Hyderabad based company has signed an agreement to set up DC Fast Charging Stations for Electric 3-Wheelers and Electric 2-Wheelers in UP. As a part of this agreement TCPL would start its first installation in Ayodhya at BPCL Energy Stations and support the launch of EV autos for the Temple inauguration event which will be inaugurated by Hon’ble PM of India.

This agreement between BPCL and TCPL will give EV adoption a boost and will also provide a network of DC Fast Charging stations to the existing Electric 3-Wheelers (e3Ws) and Electric 2-Wheelers (e2ws) across major cities of Uttar Pradesh.Under this agreement, TCPL will initially focus on cities such as Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Noida, Saharanpur and Agra in the state of Uttar Pradesh to set up DC Fast Charging Stations at BPCL Outlets in the state.

Speaking on the occasion of signing the MoU, Rahul Tandon, Chief General Manager (Marketing) Retail, BPCL said, “BPCL has always been at the forefront of providing all forms of energy solutions for personal and commercial mobility to our esteemed customers.  We have entered the exciting phase of energy transition towards clean energy and this partnership is an important step forward in driving the adoption of electric vehicles in the e-2&3 wheelers segment in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Taking our intent of offering our customers with all energy solutions, BPCL is taking another milestone step for the future of sustainable mobility. Bharat Petroleum is happy to be associated with TCPL in its journey to set up a fast charging network in Uttar Pradesh. The pooling of resources in the public and private sectors to create necessary infrastructure is a great way to promote electric mobility.”

TCPL, a leading Charge Point Operator with over 800 EV Charging Stations in the country, will be responsible for the Safety, operations and maintenance of these DC Fast Charging Stations. They will also be responsible for generating Demand, managing customer complaints and the operations and maintenance of the fast chargers.

This association will pave way to eliminating range anxiety in a one of its kind initiative in India, where these charging points can handle vehicles of 20V to 120V with a current dispensing capacity of 100 Amps per hr. The same would enable an electric 2-wheeler of 20Ah battery to get fully charged in less than 12 mins making it a perfect solution for busy urban roads and especially for commercial drivers and delivery agents.

Speaking on the occasion of signing the MoU, Rajkumar Medimi, Chief Executive Officer, Trinity Cleantech Private Limited said, “This is a milestone for Trinity Cleantech Private Limited as we get access to BPCL’s wide network of petrol pumps across the country. This will help us set up DC Fast Charging stations which will not only give confidence to the industry but will also make life convenient for existing e3Ws and e2Ws owners. We are hoping that this partnership will give the necessary fillip to boost EV adoption as well as help fight vehicular pollution and ease the environmental conditions.”
