Garmin announces ECG App availability for compatible watches in India
The company says users can record a 30-second ECG and create a report through Garmin Connect. Device and regional eligibility apply.
Garmin says its ECG App is now available in India on compatible smartwatches, allowing users to take a 30-second recording and check for signs of atrial fibrillation or normal sinus rhythm.
Results can be viewed on the watch and optionally synced to Garmin Connect, where users can review recordings and create reports to share with a healthcare professional, according to the announcement.
The company says the feature requires compatible hardware and the latest watch software and Garmin Connect app. It is intended for adults aged 22 and above and records an ECG similar to a single Lead I tracing.
The feature is not a replacement for clinical assessment, and users should not rely on it to assess symptoms of a heart attack or stroke.
