Indian manufacturing on track for USD 2.7 trillion by 2047
A report based on research across more than 130 manufacturers finds India will fall well short of its 2047 manufacturing goal, with workforce productivity the biggest available lever.
Against a USD 7.5 trillion target, says KPMG
Indian manufacturing is on course to reach about USD 2.7 trillion by 2047, well short of the national target of USD 7.5 trillion contributing 25 percent of GDP, according to a new report from KPMG in India. The report, based on research across more than 130 large Indian manufacturing companies, argues that workforce productivity is the country's most underleveraged growth lever and the one with the greatest potential to close the gap. It calls for manufacturers to redesign work, organisational structures and talent deployment.
