JBM Auto leads India’s Electric Bus Market
Reinforcing its leadership in India’s fast-growing electric mobility sector, JBM Auto Limited has emerged as the No. 1 electric bus manufacturer in the country, achieving a commanding 24% market share in the electric bus segment during FY26. This milestone underscores JBM Auto’s central role in driving India’s transition toward sustainable and locally manufactured public transport solutions.
FY26 witnessed 1,282 JBM electric buses being registered across various states, including Telangana, Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Assam, expanding its footprint in both city public transport and private transport sectors such as luxury coach and tarmac buses. The company’s indigenously developed, self-reliant e-mobility platform has positioned it as a trusted partner for governments, corporates and operators across India.
The company also continues to lead specialized mobility segments, commanding over 79% market share in the overall electric tarmac bus segment along with a 50% share in the intercity luxury coach market. With a robust order book exceeding 10,000 electric buses, JBM Auto is well-positioned to lead India’s transition toward ~60% EV penetration in the bus segment by 2030.
