KP Group sets FY32 targets for owned power, EPC and battery manufacturing
KP Group’s new strategy targets 10 GW of owned renewable generation, 10 GW of third-party EPC and 10 GWh of battery manufacturing by FY32. These are separate future business targets, not current operating capacity.
KP Group has announced a strategy targeting 10 GW of owned renewable generation, 10 GW of third-party engineering, procurement and construction execution, and 10 GWh of integrated battery manufacturing capability by fiscal 2032.
The group presented the targets at its September 30 Investor Day under its KP 3.0 strategy. Owned generation is to be developed through KPI Green Energy, while the third-party EPC target excludes related-party projects. The battery ambition spans cell manufacturing and battery energy storage system assembly.
These measures describe different businesses. Owned generation and EPC execution cannot be added and presented as 20 GW of power assets owned by the group. Likewise, a battery manufacturing target measured in GWh is not installed electricity generation capacity.
KP reported a renewable portfolio of 9.21 GW including operational and under-construction projects. The aggregate therefore does not establish that 9.21 GW is already generating electricity. Its public newsroom separately confirms the Investor Day announcement and an earlier portfolio update.
The group also identified energy storage, floating solar, power trading and green hydrogen as expansion areas. Sundrops Energia is positioned as its battery storage platform, including assembly and cell manufacturing plans.
The strategy sets out a direction of growth, but the release does not disclose a complete capital expenditure and funding schedule, phase-wise battery commissioning dates or contracted customers for the manufacturing target. Those details will determine whether the ambitions translate into financed assets and commercial production.
