Mahindra launches Thar OG from INR 10.32 lakh
Mahindra's updated three-door Thar starts at an introductory INR 10.32 lakh, with deliveries beginning October 11. The variant annexure places six airbags and all-disc brakes on ZXT, rather than the entry-priced version highlighted in the announcement.

Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the Thar OG, an updated version of its three-door SUV, at introductory ex-showroom prices starting at INR 10.32 lakh, with deliveries scheduled to begin on October 11, 2026.
The introductory prices apply to deliveries completed by November 30. The starting price buys the AXT diesel rear-wheel-drive manual, rather than a four-wheel-drive version. The range extends to INR 18.99 lakh for the ZXT diesel four-wheel-drive automatic, according to the company's price table.
Mahindra says the model adopts its M_Glyde 4G platform, revised rear suspension and electric power steering. The specified petrol engine produces 119 kW and 330 Nm, while the larger diesel produces 111.9 kW and 330 Nm. The smaller diesel's stated output remains 87.2 kW and 300 Nm.
Equipment varies substantially by trim. Although the release's highlights promote six airbags and all-disc brakes, its annexure lists dual airbags and front-disc, rear-drum brakes for AXT. Four additional airbags and rear disc brakes appear among ZXT's incremental features. Electronic locking differential and the named off-road terrain modes are restricted to four-wheel-drive configurations in the annexure.
The price and equipment distinction is material for buyers comparing the entry offer with the version used in launch publicity.
