ahead of its launch

Maruti Suzuki's New Brezza has scored a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating for both adult and child occupant protection (30.41/32 and 43/49), ahead of its launch on July 24. The tested variant carries six airbags as standard, electronic stability control and ISOFIX mounts, and the rating applies across the range. It is what Maruti calls its fifth consecutive 5-star Bharat NCAP result. The score is notable given Maruti's history: the previous-generation Vitara Brezza managed only 2 stars for child protection in 2018 Global NCAP tests, and other Maruti models once scored zero, so the result caps a real shift by a carmaker long criticised on safety, now fitting six airbags as standard across its range.
