Recently Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI) supported MITTI Café in launching India's first food truck operated by Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). This initiative not only provides livelihoods for PwDs but also raises awareness and sensitization towards the cause.

As an inclusive organization that focuses on sustainable mobility, MBRDI helps in the skilling and job-readiness of PwDs who are aspiring to be software engineers by building their IT domain and workplace soft skills. Till date, the company has provided IT skilling and facilitated employment for 200 aspiring software engineers with disabilities in various job roles across several multinational corporations.

MBRDI is also actively supporting startups dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for PwDs through mobility solutions. Through seed funding and technical mentorship, these startups are developing innovative mobility aids, such as prosthetic limbs, customizable wheelchairs, and India's first-ever standing crutch.

In solidarity with #IDPD2023, the three-pointed star logo atop the Embassy Crest Bengaluru office was lit up in purple, symbolising MBRDI’s commitment towards diversity, equity and inclusion, with a focus on People with Disabilities.

Should you want to know more about the company’s CSR initiatives, we’re happy to set up a meeting with Shweta Pandey, Vice President and General Counsel, MBRDI at a mutually convenient time.
