Tesla launches India’s first charging station
Tesla announced the launch of its newest and first in-mall charging location at Nexus Seawoods mall in Navi Mumbai, providing a total of eight Tesla chargers to Tesla owners in the area. Building on the success of its charging stations in Gurugram, Delhi, and Mumbai, Tesla is expanding its Supercharger network nationwide to locations where customers naturally spend time, such as shopping malls, highway rest stops, and food courts, making it convenient to recharge while on the road.
The Supercharging site, located in the B1 parking area at Nexus Seawoods mall, is equipped with four V4 Superchargers (DC Charging) with peak charging speeds of 250 kW and 4 Destination Chargers (AC Charging) providing 11 kW, offering flexibility for every Tesla owner. With Tesla Superchargers, a Model Y can add up to 275 km of range in just 15 minutes, enough for a scenic trip to Pune from Navi Mumbai and back. The simple “Plug In, Charge and Go” experience, with an uptime of 99.95%, allows Tesla owners to travel freely with complete peace of mind.
Through the Tesla app, owners can seamlessly navigate to a Supercharger, precondition the battery of the vehicle, check stall availability, monitor charging progress, receive completion notifications, and complete payments all in one integrated experience. With the commissioning of this site, Tesla now operates 4 charging stations across India, equipped with 20 Superchargers and 14 Destination Chargers.
