Ultraviolette and Bolt.Earth expand

Ultraviolette Automotive announces a strategic collaboration with Bolt.Earth to accelerate the rollout of a nationwide interoperable Type-6 DC fast-charging network, strengthening India’s EV ecosystem for two- and three-wheelers. Built on the BIS-recognised Type-6 standard (IS 17017), the initiative ensures standardised, non-proprietary charging access, with Ultraviolette vehicles already compatible with the network.

The partnership has activated chargers across multiple states and will expand to 50 stations in the next two months, with plans to scale to 2,000 chargers over 24 months. Offering efficient 3kW DC fast charging (0–80% in ~2.5 hours), the collaboration aims to enhance accessibility, reduce range anxiety, and support the widespread adoption of high-performance electric mobility in India.

With this collaboration, Ultraviolette further strengthens the transition toward interoperable fast-charging infrastructure by expanding access to public Type-6 charging across the country. Importantly, Ultraviolette vehicles are already built on the Type-6 standard, reaffirming that the charging interface is based on a recognised national standard rather than a proprietary connector. As the ecosystem matures and adoption gathers pace, Type-6 is emerging as the
most credible pathway to interoperable, scalable DC charging for India’s 2W and 3W EV segment.

Speaking on the development, Niraj Rajmohan, Co-founder & CTO, Ultraviolette, said, “Ultraviolette’s vision is to push the boundaries of electric mobility not only through product innovation, but by helping shape the ecosystem that will power the future of mobility. Our collaboration with Bolt.Earth is an important step in advancing Type-6 Fast Charging infrastructure in India - an interoperable, scalable standard built specifically for the needs of 2W and 3W EVs. Ultraviolette vehicles already adopt the Type-6 interface, and this collaboration expands real-world charging access on a nationally recognised standard. As public charging infrastructure evolves, interoperability will be critical to accelerating EV
adoption, improving rider confidence, and enabling the next stage of growth for electric mobility in India.”
S. Raghav Bharadwaj, CEO & Co-Founder, Bolt. Earth, said, “Easy access to fast charging is the foundation of a truly scalable EV ecosystem in India, especially during the transitional period. It must feel as natural as refueling, always within reach. With Blaze DC, we’ve integrated the Type 6 connector to create India’s first universal fast charger for two- and three-wheelers, built to work seamlessly with what exists today and what’s coming tomorrow. This isn’t about creating new standards but ensuring that the right one is adopted at scale. In the months ahead,
Blaze DC will be deployed across major metros, and in years to come, it will form the backbone of everyday charging nationwide.”

With an aggressive national expansion roadmap already in motion, Bolt.Earth aims to deploy 2,000 chargers over a 24-month horizon to create one of India’s largest public fast-charging networks tailored for advanced two-wheeler mobility. For Ultraviolette customers, this translates into significantly enhanced charging accessibility, reduced wait times, and reliable connectivity during long-distance travel.
