Cummins India reported standalone sales of INR 3,247.47 crore for the September quarter, compared with INR 3,121.58 crore a year earlier. Profit before tax fell to INR 600.82 crore from INR 839.43 crore, while profit after tax declined to INR 466.89 crore from INR 637.69 crore, according to its financial filing.

Sales were also lower than the June quarter's INR 3,374.93 crore. The company's release put domestic sales at approximately INR 2,692 crore and exports at INR 555 crore.

Managing director Adegbile Adewunmi said demand remained healthy across domestic markets including data centres, manufacturing and real estate, while commodity and freight inflation and product mix affected margins. He said benefits from pricing actions were expected to flow through progressively.
