Indrajaal Ranger: India's first Anti-Drone Patrol Vehicle
In a significant leap for India's border security capabilities, Indrajaal has unveiled the Indrajaal Ranger, the country's first anti-drone patrol vehicle engineered specifically for border defence and surveillance operations. The vehicle addresses a pressing challenge that plagues border regions across the globe: the rising threat of cross-border smuggling and aerial security breaches.
"If you look at many countries, the biggest challenge at the border is that a lot of narcotics are getting smuggled and coming through the border areas. With the help of the Indrajaal Ranger surveillance vehicle, we have successfully stopped a lot of these narcotics and other security-related movements. We are talking to the Border Security Force, and this vehicle can also be used for VVIP convoys. We have been getting a very good response from the Defence and other sectors. We are also planning to export this vehicle to many countries," says Jay Naduvath, Chief Marketing Officer at Indrajaal.
Built on a rugged 4x4 all-terrain platform such as the Toyota Hilux, the Ranger is designed to navigate dense urban pockets, remote border roads, and challenging off-grid terrain with equal ease. At its core lies the proprietary SkyOS™ autonomy engine, which keeps all defence systems fully active even while the vehicle is in motion, effectively creating a moving protective bubble around it.
The Ranger boasts a 360-degree radar capable of detecting unauthorised drones within a 10 km radius, paired with a three-tier neutralisation framework operating within a 4 km combat zone. This layered response includes cyber takeover to hijack drone controls within 4 km, soft-kill methods using electronic warfare, RF jamming, and GNSS spoofing within 3 km, and hard-kill interceptors that deploy 'Zombee' autonomous drones to physically eliminate hostile targets within 2 km. Notably, battery-backed electronics allow the anti-drone systems to operate for up to seven hours with the engine switched off.
Targeting cross-border smuggling of drugs and weapons while safeguarding critical infrastructure like military bases, ports, and power grids, the Indrajaal Ranger signals a new era in mobile aerial defence.
