Olectra introduces 35 electric buses in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Olectra Greentech has introduced 35 air-conditioned electric buses in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for the city's public-transport network.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the buses on November 1 at the Divisional Sports Complex, according to the company's release. Evey Trans will operate the fleet, with passenger services scheduled to begin on November 2 across city routes.
The nine-metre buses use blade battery technology and feature air suspension, regenerative braking, CCTV cameras, vehicle-location tracking and passenger-information systems, Olectra said.
Managing director Mahesh Babu described the deployment as a further step in expanding electric public transport. “The true measure of progress is not just the number of buses deployed, but the positive impact they create on everyday mobility, passenger experience and the environment,” he said in the supplied statement.
