The insurer reported premium income of INR 3,506 crore and profit of INR 426 crore, in what it says are the first general insurance results published under Ind AS.

First general insurer to report under Ind AS

SBI General Insurance reported gross direct premium income of INR 3,506 crore in the first quarter of FY27, up 10.9 percent year on year, with profit after tax of INR 426 crore and comprehensive income of INR 573 crore. Health premiums grew 49.9 percent and personal accident 26.3 percent, while engineering rose 95.4 percent and marine cargo 16.8 percent. The insurer reported a solvency ratio of 2.0 times and a combined operating ratio of 96.18 percent. The results are its first under the newly adopted Ind AS framework, which the company said makes it the first general insurer to report under the standard.
