TVS VMS puts its first 57 electric trucks on the road, targets 300-plus in FY27
TVS Vehicle Mobility Solutions has entered electric trucking, deploying 57 Montra Rhino e-trucks on a Chhattisgarh route and targeting 300-plus in FY27, the latest in a run of Montra deployments as legacy logistics players electrify.
In another evidence to the freight-electrification feature that we published earlier, TVS Vehicle Mobility Solutions, the logistics arm of the TVS Mobility Group, has entered electric trucking after seven decades of running diesel fleets, putting 57 Montra Electric Rhino heavy trucks into service on a 190-km freight route in Chhattisgarh, backed by three charging stations. The two say they aim to deploy more than 300 electric trucks in FY27. It is the latest in a run of Montra deployments, after the 65-truck first batch of a 260-unit order flagged off in July and supplies to cement makers, and a marker of legacy logistics operators going electric. The usual caveat holds: 57 are running now against a 300-plus target that remains an ambition, and the truck's roughly 198-km range leaves thin margin on a 190-km route, hence the dedicated chargers.
