BMW new 7 Series range petrol and electric flagships priced the same
BMW has priced the petrol 740 M Sport and the electric i7 eDrive50 identically at INR 1.95 crore. Local assembly at Chennai is what makes the parity possible.
BMW India has launched the new 7 Series range, and the petrol 740 M Sport and the electric i7 eDrive50 carry the same ex-showroom price of INR 1,95,00,000. The performance i7 M70, which is imported as a completely built unit, sits at INR 2,65,00,000. The i7 will be built at BMW Group Plant Chennai, making India the only country other than Germany where the model is produced. The i7 eDrive50 carries a 112.5 kWh battery and a claimed range of up to 728 km on the WLTP cycle, with 455 hp. The petrol 740 produces 400 hp. BMW has not disclosed local content, expected volumes, or how it expects the range to split between the two drivetrains.
