Cosmo First's revenue jumps 46% in Q1, though volumes rose just 9%

Cosmo First, the specialty packaging-films maker formerly known as Cosmo Films, reported a strong June quarter: consolidated net revenue up 46% to INR 1,166 crore and net profit up 26% to INR 54 crore. The headline flatters the core, though, sales volumes rose just 9%, with the rest coming from better film margins, a recovery in its US business after tariffs eased, and its fast-growing newer arms in specialty chemicals, rigid packaging and even a pet-care retail chain, Zigly. The company said all its B2B businesses are now profitable, and guided to 20% revenue growth for the year on net debt of about 2.3 times EBITDA.
