Hyundai Motor India Limited expands its Ultra-Fast charging stations across India

Hyundai Motor India Ltd., India’s smart mobility solutions provider, announced the successful expansion of its Ultra-High Speed Public EV Charging Network across key highways and cities in India. The company has expanded to a total of Eleven Ultra-Fast charging stations each having three Charging points – comprising one unit each of DC 150 kW, DC 60 kW and DC 30 kW capacity, as part of HMIL’s aim to spearhead the electric vehicle adoption in India and lessen range anxiety for both intercity and intra city travel.

Commenting on the expansion milestone of Ultra-Fast DC chargers, Mr. Jae Wan Ryu, Executive Director, Corporate Planning, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, “At Hyundai Motor India Ltd., we have always strived to create new benchmarks and lead the industry by example. Aligned with our global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’, Hyundai is always working towards the fulfilment of all its customer needs. In line with Government of India’s focus towards creating a holistic electric vehicle ecosystem, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. is committed to enhance customer’s EV ownership experience. The expansion of our Ultra-Fast charging stations to 11 locations is a step in the same direction. Hyundai Motor India Ltd. is the only OEM in the country to set-up 11 Ultra-fast charging stations in public locations. We are committed to India and we will continue strengthening the charging infrastructure in line with the Indian Government’s resolve for Electrification.”

The expanded public charging network of Ultra-Fast chargers is available across six key cities i.e. Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Gurugram and Bangalore and on five major highway locations i.e. Delhi-Chandigarh, Delhi-Jaipur, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Mumbai-Surat and Mumbai-Nashik. Most of these chargers are operational round the clock for ease of usage of customers and are available for all Hyundai and non-Hyundai customers. To further enhance the customer experience, these charging stations would also be manned by dedicated manpower. They would have multiple customer amenities nearby such as coffee shops and restaurants to support the customers for all their needs while their vehicles are being charged.

With these Ultra-Fast DC chargers, customers would get the benefit of a quick charging experience, especially the Hyundai IONIQ 5 customers who would be able to charge their vehicles from 10% to 80% charge within 21 minutes. The charging sessions can be booked at an attractive price of INR 18 per unit for a 30 kW Charger, INR 21 per unit for a 60 kW Charger and INR 24 per unit for a 150 kW Charger. The EV charging stations are visible on Hyundai’s app called myHyundai under EV Charge for discovering chargers, navigation to chargers, pre-booking of charging slot, digital payment and charging status monitoring. In addition to these Ultra-Fast chargers, more than 2900+ charging points are mapped in the 'EV Charge' available in myHyundai app for customer convenience. This app is open and accessible for all Hyundai as well as non-Hyundai EV users. Hyundai is planning to expand its Ultra-Fast charging stations to 10 or more new locations in 2024. These sites will be located across India and Hyundai is committed to working on enhancing the overall EV experience for Hyundai as well as non-Hyundai EV users.

In addition, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. is planning to install 100 Charging stations by 2027, as per the agreement with the Government of Tamil Nadu in the recently concluded Global Investor Meet held in January’24.
