Ola Electric is pushing into utility-scale battery storage as a growth engine beyond its struggling electric-scooter business, signing a first, non-binding agreement with renewable developer Axis Energy for potential deployment of up to 20 GWh of storage by 2032, ramping to 5 GWh a year from 2028. It comes ahead of the 15 August launch of Ola's grid-storage platform, Mahashakti. The logic is vertical integration: Ola makes LFP cells, so it can build the packs. But it is an MoU with no firm order or commercial terms, for a platform not yet launched, and Ola's EV sales have roughly halved amid losses and regulatory scrutiny. The stock still rose about 10%.
