Recyclekaro agrees a battery and e-waste recycling joint venture in Uzbekistan
Recyclekaro will build battery and e-waste recycling in Uzbekistan with state-owned TMK, weeks after the two countries named mineral processing a priority. Investment, capacity and timeline are all undisclosed.
Recyclekaro has agreed with Uzbekistan's Technological Metals Complex to establish a joint venture in Uzbekistan for e-waste and end-of-life battery recycling and critical mineral recovery, with Recyclekaro contributing technology, project development and operating expertise. Feasibility studies have begun and capacity is to be announced later. The agreement follows the state visit to Tashkent on 29 and 30 August, when India and Uzbekistan elevated relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and named mineral processing and recycling among the areas for cooperation, with a bilateral trade target of USD 5 billion by 2030. Recyclekaro did not disclose the investment, the equity split, the capacity or a commissioning date.
