Title: Tata reports 73,894 domestic PV sales in October; Mahindra SUVs reach 73,338
Tata's domestic passenger-vehicle sales rose 21% year on year, while Mahindra reported 2% growth in domestic utility vehicles. Both updates cover October 2026.
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles reported domestic sales of 73,894 vehicles in October 2026, up 21% from 61,134 a year earlier. Mahindra & Mahindra reported domestic utility-vehicle sales of 73,338, up 2% from 71,624.
The releases cover different product mixes: Tata's figure includes cars and SUVs, while Mahindra's reported domestic passenger-vehicle volume is accounted for by utility vehicles. The figures are company sales disclosures and do not establish national retail-registration rankings.
Tata's total passenger-vehicle sales, including international business, reached 75,426, up 23% year on year. Electric-vehicle sales across domestic and international markets rose 75% to 16,244. Those EVs are included in the passenger-vehicle total.
Mahindra said its overall automotive sales, including exports and other vehicle categories, reached 1,31,109, up 9%. Domestic light-commercial-vehicle sales were 33,037, up 4%, while three-wheeler sales, including electric three-wheelers, rose 38% to 17,632.
“The festive season, together with a refreshed portfolio, kept demand strong across SUVs, pick-ups and three-wheelers,” Velusamy R, president of Mahindra's automotive business, said in the supplied release.
The companies' updates provide an early view of October sales. A broader industry assessment will require the remaining manufacturers' data and separate retail-registration figures.
