Zydex and Germany's Keimfarben bet on a 20-year paint warranty
Zydex Paints has teamed up with Germany's Keimfarben to bring silicate mineral paints to India, backed by a minimum 20-year performance warranty: a bid to carve out a premium niche in a crowded market.
Zydex Paints has partnered with German firm Keimfarben to push silicate mineral paints in India, offering a minimum 20-year warranty against fading and film failure — against the four-to-five-year repaint cycle of conventional acrylics in coastal cities. The pitch is 'lifecycle performance' over repeated repainting, with a range the company says is over 95% locally made.
"India's paints market is moving towards the ₹1 lakh crore mark, yet long-term paint performance remains an underserved opportunity," said Dr. Moulik Ranka, Managing Director of the Zydex Group, who expects silicate solutions to build a ₹1,500–2,000 crore category. Zydex is targeting growth in its paints and waterproofing business from about ₹150 crore this year to nearly ₹300 crore within two years.
