Jawa's third All Stars launch in five weeks
Jawa Yezdi's third All Stars launch in five weeks brings new bodywork and a wider rear tyre, but the INR 1,79,942 headline is the carryover colour, not the new range.
Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles unveiled the new Jawa 42 in Mumbai on 9 September, completing its All Stars range after the 42 FJ and the 42 Bobber and putting all three under a single badge ahead of the festive season. Bookings are open and deliveries begin on 14 September.
The company leads on a starting price of INR 1,79,942 ex-showroom Delhi. Its own table shows that figure belongs to the Black and Ivory scheme, the only one of the six listed colourways not badged All Stars. The All Stars colours are priced at INR 1,84,942 for Ivory, INR 1,86,942 for Nebula Blue and INR 1,89,942 for Black. Battle Green and Moss Grey are listed without any price at all.
The mechanical package is carried over. The 294.7 cc liquid-cooled DOHC single is rated at 27.19 at 7,950 rpm, a figure the release states without a unit, and 26.3 Nm at 6,000 rpm, with a six-speed gearbox and dual-channel ABS on 280 mm front and 240 mm rear discs. The changes are to bodywork and chassis: reworked side panels and rear section, a wider rear fender, a 150/70-17 rear tyre, new alloy wheels, a more compact upswept twin exhaust and a redesigned seat. Jawa Yezdi claims more than 60 enhancements and says it has worked on mass, frame and swingarm stiffness. Kerb weight is 175 kg and the 13.2-litre tank continues.
Anupam Thareja, co-founder, Classic Legends, said, “The most interesting communities are built by people who share a way of conducting themselves even when there is no audience. That is what we have come to understand about the Jawa rider. The codes of character, conduct and courage we see in places as different as defence and sports.”
